Riffs on high-impact, op-art stripes showed up nearly everywhere, from Christian Dior and Stella McCartney to Chloé, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada, where there was a ‘60s spirit in the air.

Anna Sui transported her audience to the beaches of Hawaii, with Polynesian and pineapple prints, while Victoria Beckham championed color-block surf prints.

At Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld offered a plentitude of bright graphics, including thematic airplane motifs and brushstroke-inspired patterns on floaty chiffon. In true Lagerfeld form, the bold seamlessly accompanied the beautiful.

Jeremy Scott, who may be the master at translating pop culture into fashion, also tapped into a ‘60s Mod vibe for his eponymous collection that featured pastel patent, his renowned cartoon-like caricatures, and childlike scribble prints. His collection for Moschino utilized a novel mash-up of caution tape prints, road sign motifs, traffic cone stripes, spoofs on brand logos, and even colorful, car wash brush-inspired evening dresses. Talk about a fresh, fun spin on fashion.

While we may not wear look-at-me patterns from head to toe, as seen on the catwalks, a punch of print is an easy way to wake up neutral essentials for the office or to accessorize a swimsuit for a playful day at the beach.
