The Libbey Dolls: Fashioning the Story explores the figurines, formerly known as the Doucet Dolls, which were produced during the World War I aid effort. The porcelain factories, where the dolls were manufactured, employed injured soldiers, senior artisans, and young men which helped to promote French novelties. The Libbey Dolls are tied to French couturier Jacques Doucet, who created the dolls’ clothing.
